My Hero, My Inspiration Part 1

It feels like it has been too long since I posted on here, so I thought I'd get back into  posting with a two part series about my inspirations and how I've gotten to where I am today!  I have two passions in my life, photography and my car.  These are two of the things that I take with great pride.  I find them relaxing and enjoyable at the same time.  For those of you who know me, know that this time last year was rather difficult for me and my family.  Within nine days I lost both of my Grandfathers.  So to honor this time and my grandfathers this year, this two part series will be dedicated to them!

The picture above is of me (center) with my sister, Kaitlyn, and my Grandma and Grandpa Driggs.  My passion of photography is in large part from my Grandpa Driggs.  I can remember whenever we visited he always had his Nikon 35mm camera.  He showed me the different things it could do, which I found amazing, but more importantly I saw how he always captured the moment.  The memories that we have today from our visits get me through any tough times.

This picture above is of one of my first days of school.  Gram and Gramp would come down from the camp, to watch me get on the bus and then would head south for the winter.  There are a number of different pictures just like this one from throughout the years.  These memories have inspired me to help others capture their memories so they can cherish them the same way I cherish mine.
This is the last photo I have of me and my grandfather.

I found him to be a very inspiration person who always had me reaching for the stars to achieve the best I could.  I loved to talk to him about what was going on in school, about my new computers or my new cameras.  (I always found it kind of funny that Grandpa knew more about technology than my dad!)  He was always proud of me in what I did, so I take pride in knowing that even today he'd still be proud of me and all the memories that I'm helping to make for others!

So, today, I dedicate all the photos I may take to my grandfather, for inspiring me, even if indirectly, to pick up the camera and capture the moment.  Memories are meant to be cherished, and I cherish mine every day! So I say this to you, capture all the memories you can! And if you want to make sure you're in those memories and not missing because you were behind the camera, give me a call or send me a message and I can help you out.

Snow Day Fun!

Cemeteries to me are peaceful and have lots of beauty.
The older the cemetery the more stories it has to share.
(Granted I only visit or photograph there during the day!)
The snow only adds to the beauty and contrast in the photos!
The tractors weren't from the cemetery, but another location.
Randomly placed along the side of a dead end road.
They just caught my eye!

Enjoy!

2010: A photo summary

Brooke and her blue eyes... she is so much fun to photograph!
Even when she starts yelling at me, "Me don't want no more pictures!"

Water fun at the end of the Roof-A-Thon!
End of the shenanigans!

Brooke playing in the water!

Lillies at the park

Mia and her face painting

...and climbing trees!

Some fun in the field

Christmas photo fun!

She had a different pose for each time the flash went off!

Halloween Fun!

...she knows she's cute!

She wasn't thrilled with me at this point!
She was cold and didn't want to be outside anymore!
And she definitely didn't want her picture taken any more!

Mia trying to hide... but even the snow doesn't hide her beautiful blues!

Cousins! Would love to do their photos again! So much fun!

I took so many photos this year it was difficult to narrow it down to just these pictures!
Looking forward to showcasing a few of my absolute favorites!
Chances are you'll get to meet my favorite models soon!
Still need to sort through some of my pictures on my Mac too! This selection is just from my laptop!

Thanks to everyone I had the opportunity to photograph in 2010.  Looking forward to more in 2011!
